Jessie is a South Florida native who moved to NJ to pursue her love of Musical Theatre. She started singing with her mom as a small child and began her formal singing and acting training at the age of 8, so she knows the importance of starting music at a young age. After receiving her professional training with a BFA in Musical Theatre, she has worked professionally in regional theatre throughout the country.
Jessie has extensive experience in children’s theatre and performed in the successful show, “Miss Nelson is Missing”, at Actors Playhouse, which was the 2004 National Children’s Theatre Festival winner. She also sang 60’s inspired rock and pop in the show “Cafe-Au-Go-Go” in Greenwich Village, which has come in handy in the band. Most recently, Jessie was a principal role in the New York City Off-Broadway show, “Tony and Tina’s Wedding“.
Chris is a New Jersey native and has spent over 20 years involved in music and the arts. He got his start in high school as a member of the house band on Nickelodeon’s popular variety show “Don’t Just Sit There”. Chris has worked in front of the camera as well as behind the scenes writing, composing, recording and producing for several TV shows and independent films.
He spent several years touring with bands as a bass player and spent 9 years as a member of New Jersey based Latin-Rock band deSoL, and co-wrote their top ten singles, “Karma” and “Sing It All Night“. Finally, he discovered the great joy in sharing music with young people and has been teaching early childhood music for over 10 years. He has done countless classes with children and their caregivers, as well as preschool music development classes and private instrument instruction. He also acted as Music Director for more than a dozen shows at the School of Rock, before leaving to pursue The Little Rockers Band full time.
LIAM MORONEY – Guitar, Vocals, Keys, Percussion
Liam has been a songwriter and performer for over 15 years. He has performed in several bands such as Gretna Greene, Shoemakers Guild and The Buttons with Little Rockers founder, Chris, and has contributed songs to all 6 Little Rockers class collection CDs. He leads his own band The East Indies as well as teaching private lessons at AppleJams and is the inspiration for the latest expression “More Liam!”
Deseree started in the theater world, starring in over 25 regional theater productions including the critically acclaimed production of Hair at the Count Basie Theater and later in the Hair documentary featured on IFC “Let the Sunshine In”. Next she toured for years as a professional backup singer or “deSoL SiStah” for the international touring Latin-rock band deSoL. Currently, you can catch her fronting her own group, Des and the Swagmatics. As leader of this eclectic group, they’ve played all over the NJ shore and NYC areas, won an Asbury Music Award, been featured in a documentary about Asbury Park for PBS and opened for Asbury legend Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. She recently sang the National Anthem at the election night victory party for New Jersey’s new Governor, Phil Murphy.
Deirdre Forrest has been working with children for over 12 years, as a pre-k teacher, babysitter, nanny, and has been a teaching artist with Little Rockers for over 4 years!! She has taught and cared for every age group, from infants up to teens, and truly enjoys watching them grow and learn, while having fun!
Deirdre began singing when she was very young, in choirs, an acapella group, and in many musical theater productions. She studied Theater and Studio Art at Stockton University. She is an award-winning singer-songwriter and recording artist. In 2012 she was awarded Top Female Songwriter at the Jersey Acoustic Music Awards. She has been nominated for several awards for Female Vocalist in various award ceremonies. She has played at venues throughout NJ, PA & NY, including: The Stone Pony, The Bitter End, The Saint & the Legendary Dobbs.. Deirdre has worked with artists of varying genres, lending her voice to several bands and recording projects. She is currently working on a Soul/Rock inspired solo project with acclaimed, Grammy Nominated producer Steve Greenwell that has worked with Joss Stone, Run DMC, Jeff Beck and LL Cool J, to name a few. Deirdre can be found playing at local venues with her Folk Rock Duo The May Darlings.
Deirdre loves that Little Rockers combines her two passions, teaching and music. She is continually inspired by the joy of the cutest rockers around, every single day.
Kate has been performing in and writing for bands since she was 14 years old. She currently writes, sings, plays guitar, and produces for local hard rock band Vextion. Her songs have been featured on 95.9 the WRAT’s Jersey Rock program. She has been featured in The Aquarian Weekly, has performed at first energy park, and was nominated for AP music awards: top female vocalist and top heavy act. In 2017 Kate performed with Marel and the Stone Feathers Band at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and released a self produced full length album with her band Vextion.
JULIA GARRATANO – Vocals, Guitar, Violin
Julia began her music career at the ripe age of 3 in dance classes. It was this training that got her into the music theater world, and the rest is history! Julia earned her BFA in Music Theater Performance with a minor in Dance from Western Michigan University, and has performed throughout the regional Midwest before ending up on the east coast. In addition to performing, Julia has taught many classes, for “little” and “big rockers”, and has played violin for 20 years.
Dani is a singer, dancer, and actress originally from Long Island, NY. She made her Broadway debut as Rapunzel in the revival of Into The Woods with Vanessa Williams. Professional credits include on and off-Broadway, TV, national tours, regional theaters, cruise ships, soundtracks, and theme parks.
She graduated with a BA in Musical Theatre from Wagner College, NY, where she received a performance scholarship and starred in several musicals. In New York City she spent several years as a featured singer/dancer at the famous Supper Club in Times Square, where she worked with legends such as Mercedes Ellington and Larry Marshall.
Dani now lives in Little Silver with her husband, 6-yr-old son and an extraordinarily soft cat named Bunchy. When she’s not teaching with Little Rockers, she can be found working as a Registered Nurse or teaching dance fitness. She is thrilled to be a part of the Little Rockers family, doing what she loves with some of the coolest teachers around!
CHELLE BAKER – Vocals, Guitar
Chelle is and always has been actively involved in the arts. A love that started with musical theatre has blossomed into her knowledge and passion that it is today. She began songwriting when she was ten-years-old and started playing guitar at twelve. Since then, she has written across a wide variety of genres, experimenting with sounds from acoustic to trap. She is currently writing and producing a folk-inspired solo project.
Chelle has been playing with an improv comedy troupe since 2010. She is grateful to have traveled the east coast performing, learning, and teaching. Favorite venues include: The North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival, Boston Comedy Arts Festival, the Magnet Theater, Walt Disney World, and Carnegie Hall.
Aside from music and performing, Chelle is a mom who loves to cook, garden, and draw. She is an advocate for environmental sustainability and the zero waste movement.
Tori’s been singing and playing guitar since she was 10 years old and continued to do so in choir all throughout high school. After high school, she went to Brookdale Community College and interned for 90.5 The Night. After Brookdale, she went to Montclair State University and became part of the production team for 90.3 WMSC. Tori graduated from Montclair with a degree in Communication in Media, Audio/ Sound Design.
Alongside of that, she loves working with children and has been working with all ages since she was old enough to babysit. She has worked as a daycare teacher, nanny and babysitter. Tori’s so thrilled to combine both her love for music and kids by working with Little Rockers/Apple Jams!
Emily is a New York based actress and singer from Middletown, New Jersey. She fell in love with performing at age 14 when she played Wendy Darling in her middle school production of Peter Pan. Since then, Emily has studied at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and Mason Gross School of the Arts. She has appeared on HBO., Funny or Die, Samsung commercials, and several feature films. In May, she graduated Cum Laude from Muhlenberg College with a Theatre Major (concentrations in Acting and Performance Studies) and a double minor in Women’s and Gender Studies and Dance. In addition to working with Little Rockers, she also works for Parity Productions, a gender conscious theatre production and advocacy company in New York.
